RE-CAP After registering a 2011-best 16 base hits in their previous game, the Louisville Longhorns raised the knock-bar an additional notch in their Thursday night Beechmont 12U Competitive League contest against the Louisville Samurai. The 17-6, 5-inning, run-rule victory saw eight Longhorn bat-toters contribute to the season-high 17-hit attack, with five of those bludgeon-wielders recording multi-hit games.

BALLYARD BANTER Half-Dozen Doozy: Ryan Hamilton’s 3-for-4 evening at the plate, which started with a 1st inning, bases-loaded double, was good for 6 RBIs, a Longhorn season-high... Four He’s a Jolly Good Fellow: Casey Simon recorded the ’Horns first 4-hit game of the season and scored 4 runs... Four More: Matthew Higgins also scored 4 runs, and went 2-for-3 with 2 runs batted in... More Four: Noah Baugher’s 1st inning single was his fourth straight hit over the last two games... Lambasting Lefty: Nicholas Parrish’s 2-for-4 night was his second multi-hit game in the last three contests, and his 3 RBIs were a personal season-high... Ethier Thaid Than Done: On the day before Los Angeles Dodger Andre Ethier’s hitting streak reached 30 games, Longhorn lead-off batter Andrew Littlefield went 3-for-4 to extend his own hit streak to 10 games... Zurdo Perfecto: The portside-pitching Littlefield also got the start on the mound and went 4 innings for the win, running his record to a perfect 3-0... A.J.’s Ks: Andrew Arnold climbed the hill for the final inning and struck out the final 2 batters to ice the victory...
